Uganda establishes Data Protection watchdog
Uganda has set up its Personal Data Protection Office under the National Information Technology Authority.. Its mandate is to oversee the implementation and enforcement of Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act.
Still related to Data Privacy and country watch dogs enforcing them, Ireland's privacy regulator has fined WhatsApp a record amount for breaking European Union data protection rules. It said the company had failed to give users transparency about how their data would be used.
