DHRLab @ Digital Human Rights and Inclusion Forum DRIF

DRIF is an important platform where conversations on digital policy in Africa are shaped, policy directions debated and partnerships forged for action. The upcoming DRIF21 will be a distributed multi-country festival of in-person convenings that communities can join virtually.

This year the DRIF (April 12th to 30th) will be held in different countries all over Africa and we are happy to announce that the DHRLab is hosting a session on April 14th 2-3pm EAT!

Our session will take place in person at Pollicy HQ and will be streamed live via the DRIF website.

During the interactive session, human rights defenders, civil society, the private sector, and policymakers will be brought together to also discuss the risks and opportunities of cybersecurity for human rights work in East Africa, in particular Uganda. Furthermore, drawings from lessons and impacts of the Digital Human Rights Lab's 'Community of Practice (DHRLab-CoP) on Digital Inclusion' will be shared - the discussions will focus on practical digital models of including and protecting the rights of minority and marginalized groups.

You can find the general agenda of the DRIF here.
