Session Objective

The session shall create awareness on the meaning of Non-consensual intimate images (NCII) based on the misleading term “revenge porn”, new technologies driving this act, and the role of digital security in curbing NCII in Uganda and sub-Saharan Africa.

The lack of legal relief and building a strategy for change will create a push factor for mind shift from this. The session will create space for interaction in terms of lessons learnt and experiences in other countries on NCII and practice good digital security. Stories from victims and perpetrators from selected countries will be shared to depict the reality of NCII in Uganda and Africa.

We will speak on the work that Digital Human Rights Lab (DHRLab) is doing on strengthening Human Rights in the digital age especially Digital Security as a Community of Practice (CoP).
