Topics & Projects

This strategy session is focused on digital rights violations and digital security practices in Africa and seeks to highlight some tools of impact developed by Paradigm Initiative and Pollicy. The session will also focus on ideating solutions on how to address digital rights violations and digital security practices on the continent.
In the session, we will present some of the tools that we have developed as solutions to these challenges. Paradigm Initiative will present on RIPOTI Digital Rights Violations Reporting Platform, and Ayeta Digital Rights Toolkit. Pollicy will present on Digital Safe Tea, a game they developed in collaboration with Paradigm Initiative.

The objective of the session is to map collaborative strategies on combating the incessant and ever increasing digital rights violations and enhance digital security practices of netizens. Lastly we hope to enlist the support of the participants to collaborate on managing, and providing leadership over the platforms and ultimately influencing how the platforms evolve and become of use to Africa's internet community. While Paradigm Initiative and Pollicy developed these platforms, we would like for them to be co-owned and managed together with partners who will bring their expertise to address the reported cases, particularly on RIPOTI which was designed to be a collaborative approach to ending digital rights violations.
